An automatic watch with a Clou de Paris guilloché dial, an open-heart flying wheel, and date and week sub-dials. The Shanghai S8924 has a Seagull ST2504 movement with 33 jewels, a sapphire crystal and a 42mm 316L stainless steel case.

The dial is the first thing you notice: a white Clou de Paris guilloché pattern in the centre, with polished date and day sub-dials and an open-heart window that shows the flying wheel working. The layered styling gives it more depth than a flat printed dial.

Inside is a Seagull ST2504 automatic movement with 33 jewels, a 21,600 bph beat and a 42-hour power reserve, a super premium Chinese movement that winds from the motion of your wrist. A sapphire crystal sits on the front and a sapphire case back shows the movement, decorated with perlage on the rotor and Côtes de Genève on the bridges. The hands are luminous and the screw-in crown carries the Shanghai logo.

It is a bigger dress watch at 42mm across, 15mm thick and 50mm lug-to-lug, so check it against your wrist. The black alligator-embossed calfskin strap (22mm) has a polished stainless steel butterfly deployment clasp. Water resistance is 5 Bar (50m), which covers rain and splashes but not swimming.
