Sea-Gull has been making watches since 1955 and is a respected name in Chinese watchmaking, and a large share of the world's mechanical movements come from its factory. The Flywheel series opens up the dial so you can see the movement working, and the numberless layout keeps the look clean.

It is an automatic that winds from your wrist, running at 21,600 beats per hour, with a week and date display. The sapphire crystal resists scratches. The 39mm round stainless steel case is 13mm thick and sits comfortably on most wrists, and the stainless steel bracelet (20mm) closes with a bracelet clasp. It comes in a watch box.

The honest bit: it is rated to 5 Bar (50m), fine for rain and splashes but not swimming. A skeleton dial shows plenty of mechanism, so it is a little busier to read than a plain dial.
